Dear friend,
Shuffling footsteps echo through the long cloister. The silence briefly broken by the sound of leather sandals. A monk strolls along with a light step. He is heading for the cloister garden, where he will join his fluttering friends in prayer. On his way, he encounters a fellow brother. Both slow their pace, meticulously adjusting to the rhythm of the other. In a sacred choreography, they move gradually towards one another. When the sandals beneath the black habits almost touch, they stop. With heads tilted slightly forward, the draping sleeves rise and the weathered hands find the arm of the other. A fraternal embrace, given in silence. Brief, intimate, yet filled with mutual admiration for the path they share. Together and yet alone, companions in a caravan of solitude. Then they walk on. It is beyond the reach of any word.
“ Together and yet alone, companions in a caravan of solitude. ”
May your week be full of wonder, sven
